Climate Crisis and Our Responsibility

tessar | 3 points

You just described the Tragedy Of The Commons[0] - when it is "everyone's responsibility" is it NO one's responsibility

If "climate change" is a problem in the way YOU think it is (vs the way I think is or the way that OTHER person thinks it is), there is absolutely flipping NOTHING you can "do" about it.

Only* governments are "big enough" to accomplish anything ... but they can only "accomplish" something through coercive force on their governed

And the relative size/influence of an individual government also speaks into how 'effective' they might be ... Sultan of Kinakuta? Not a lot of influence. Premier Xi Jing Ping? [potentially] loads of influence ... but he only cares about his own power, his party's power, and his country's power.

Then you also have the Trade-Off Effect - fines etc can be considered a "worthwhile risk" to someone who wishes to break the regulations of their government (some might think the potential for a speeding ticket for driving 25 over on the highway is a worthwhile risk vs saving time getting where they are going)

We know it was warm enough a thousand years ago for the Norse (including the Vikings) to be farming on Greenland! Does that make global warming/cooling/climate 'change' a Bad Thing™ or a Good Thing™ or Just A thing™? Yes!

There are benefits to colder climes becoming warmer ... There are benefits to warmer climes becoming cooler

It is all about trade-offs - some of which humanity might be able to influence/control ... and some of which are entirely outside humanity's control/influence

It's time for North American billionaires to cut back on flying private jets. Figures like the Kardashians, Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce, Meghan and Harry are living it up, while the less affluent are bending over backward to protect the environment. LOL.

The heated debate on climate crisis if there's one, like I said no one have the power in predicting nor control the future. Average people are not responsible for none of it besides they are not in control. We do not understand the meaning for control and it's effects on our responsibilities. The majority, thats 90% of the population will just go along with anything the 1% or 2% of people driving them into; without thinking. Possibility of 90% of them reading this will go on thinking they are the 1% or 2%. It is like the Georgia monument/stone, a well educated person would try behave when reading the line saying our planet should limit it's inhabitant by 500 million. In his or her mind, the good behaviour includes the person part of 500 million class. It is the same thinking when we talk about everything, we just listening what others preaching without using our critical thinking hat. The other key driving factor is how divided we are, we don't even work with our siblings and that's says it all. It is how successfully external factors influence and dividing us away from our siblings. Strip a person from all supporting structure, made him standing alone at a gun point in a firing range, then whisper in his ears it is his responsibility?

The problem isn't the concern instead the solution for climate crisis does not appears to be a solution at all. It is like this, you step into a restaurant, nothing in restaurant are within our control. We eat our meal, pay for the food and services, leave. The way I am seeing how this been address for climate crisis, addition to payment for the food and services, you'll bring your utensils, clean up after your meal and maybe bringing own food; still pay more for it. I finding general population unaware of it, instead continue embracing it, they bring own plastic bags for grocery shopping, as said earlier they are not in control to held responsible. The so call the polluting material was given to everyone in order gain something in return, we did not ask for it nor have choice or options; nothing is free. We did not made the decision nor responsible for it.

At airports, in-order to stop hazards from water container they provided free drinking water. This works absolutely well, it removed all plastics bottle entering airport. However, this will not work on general public places as people can't be billed for water usage and private water companies wouldn't like the idea. Worst, long term converting public water turning into private plan will halt on it's track. This a solution works, but however we'll have people aruge it will not work but spray the sky with unknown chemical cocktail and force absorbing carbon gas will work, it will work because the 1% or 2% said so. The sky spraying thingy, I still don't understand the land mass of our planet is <30% but the spraying activity is on 30% of the area and not the 70%, what is the target?
